Vinyl Liner Warranty
20 Year Limited Liner Warranty effective 01/01/2024
Tara warrants that this liner will not leak due to seam separation under normal conditions of wear, exposure, and usage for 20 years from the date of installation. During the first two years, if a Tara vinyl liner fails because of a manufacturer’s defect at a welded seam, Tara will repair or replace the liner at no cost. After the initial two years, charges for liner replacement will apply according to the schedule below, based on the suggested retail price at the time of replacement:
3rd year: 30% 4th year: 40% 5th year: 50% 6th year: 60% 7th year: 70% 8th to 20th year: 80%
Tara does not oversee the installation or maintenance of the pool once the liner is installed. It is the installer’s responsibility to ensure the liner is installed in a pool identical to the dimensions provided to Tara, and that the liner is placed in a smooth shell without rough spots, like rust or gravel. The ideal base for the liner is fine-grade pure sand or vermiculite. If the liner doesn’t appear to fit properly, the installer must contact Tara MFG before filling the pool with water.
Immediately after installation, the water chemistry should be balanced according to the recommendations on the back of this warranty card. Maintaining proper water balance is crucial and the homeowner’s responsibility. This warranty does not cover liner damage due to improper water balance. We require a record of chemical applications for warranty claims.
In some rare cases, insects such as ants or termites may damage a vinyl liner. We recommend having an exterminator treat the area around a new pool construction site or where a new liner will be installed.
Additional Terms and Conditions:
- This warranty is exclusively for residential swimming pool liners.
- Report any liner issues to Tara in writing or via email within 30 days.
- Tara may opt to repair or replace a failing or ill-fitting liner and can authorize a professional for repairs.
- Do not leave your pool empty. Document any defects with photos or videos before attempting repairs, to aid warranty assessments.
- Questions regarding warranty terms can be addressed to Tara’s Warranty Department via the provided contact details.
- Note that Tara purchases premium grade vinyl but is not the manufacturer. Therefore, material failures like fading, discoloration, staining, or physical alterations are not covered under this warranty and should be directed to the material’s manufacturer.
Exclusions:
- Tara’s warranty does not cover liner damage from tears, punctures, abuse, excessive strain, improper installation, chemical damage, improper use of salt-chlorine systems, natural disasters, extreme temperatures or including damage from intense light reflection from high-efficiency windows or other reflective surfaces.
- When using automatic pool covers, regularly and safely uncover or vent the pool to avoid chlorine vapor buildup. Excessive chlorine vapor can cause premature liner failure and is not covered under this warranty.
- The decorative print pattern of the liner is not covered.
- Unauthorized continued use of a poorly fitting or defective liner voids this warranty.
- Tara is not responsible for additional costs such as labor, replacement water or chemicals, or subsequent damages due to leaks. Tara also disclaims liability for violations of local building codes due to pool installation.
Your rights under this warranty may vary by state. Warranty registration must be completed online or mailed to Tara within 30 days of purchase; failure to do so invalidates the warranty. Proof of purchase is required for all claims.
